And you can be doing something else whilst it's cooking.

For the unitiated:
1 supermarket stewpack of vegetables £1
1 vegetable stock cube
Seasoning (usually pepper only; there is enough salt in the stock cube)
1.5 pints water
Chilli flakes

Peel and chop the vegetables
Cover with boiling water
Mix in the stock cube
Bring slowly to the boil
Simmer for 25-45 minutes (depending on the vegetables) with the lid on the saucepan.
Remove from heat. Blend.
Serve with chilli flakes
