He’s a good manager and will try to build a rapport with the fans. Back him and he’ll create a siege mentality between the club outward. What he won’t do is develop young players - he’ll want ready made talent alongside loan players who are already tearing it up at U23 level.

I guess the watch out is that our last 18 months with him, he’d run out of ideas to the naked eye. He got more and more duds vs hits on loan, but more importantly spent too much time complaining about his budget. He claimed that he never wanted to leave and that he’d stay regardless of budget but he went too far the other way in public.

Be interested to see who he gets in as #2 - he went straight for woking legend Steve Thompson with us, which immediately built bridges for most except SimonB.

Edit: he may also immediately try and sign Ben Smith, regardless of how old he is now.
