I get the logic*, but this could also cause a lot of unintended consequences.

This new world we live in currently is bearable because ever since lock down we've had summer weather. So, even when things were more restricted most people were able to enjoy time outside etc. But, going through Autumn and Winter with no pubs and not being able to escape to gardens, the park etc could lead to a very miserable time for a lot of people.

* looking at recent actions in Manchester, home visits have been shut down but pubs allowed to stay open. Presumably that means visiting peoples homes is more risky than going to a pub and so visiting homes would also need to be banned to support the schools re-opening?
