Vaccines can cause viruses to mutate. Do you assume they only mutate to more harmful variants?

whether or not another person is vaccinated makes no difference to anyone aside from the person themselves

We'll disagree on this because I believe in herd immunity, I believe the facts of that are established enough to demonstrate that unvaccinated individuals pose an increased risk of infection spreading within a community. The particular reason for this is that for some people the vaccine does not provide protection, that person is more at risk if the come in contact with an unvaccinated host than a vaccinated one. You say they are not connected but the whole concept of herd immunity is based on the fact they are.
