Excellent performance and result. Great goal from Ken McBenna. Having said it... genuinely the worst referee I've ever seen, and Barrow got the brunt of it - thought we deserved the win though.

It wasn't too bad, a bit chilly.

Not been there for years, the new stand was quite personable although, having been roped into doing the press, I ended up in the world's smallest press box next to a rather jolly and enthusiastic announcer.

I've done the exciting match report and quotes piece, and now I'm preparing an article which is a plea to York fans not to kick your head in when you come to visit later this month.

We lost 1-0 to Chertsey in the Surrey Senior Cup tonight

So far we've lost out in 3 cup matches to lower league teams - VCD Athletic (FA Cup), North Leigh ((Trophy), and now tonight

It's not as tho we've got much to aim for in the league now, other than being dragged into a relegation battle

Another odd away result for us. Better side, created 4 very good chances, didn't score. Their one decent one? In. Lost 1-0. Tubbs shot that hit the inside of the post at the death and came straight back out summed it up.

We'll probably win at AFCW now or probably break the away day hoodoo at somewhere like Tranmere with a 4-0 win.

We're hoping to be heading the other way via the play of....... oh wait, that will never happen.

At least the National South is a lot easier than the last time you were in it. Any decent manager with a top half budget can make a run for the play offs. You don't need loads to build a half decent side. You lot will love East Thurrock, Concord's and Poole's grounds. At least the latter is a cracking away day/stop over.
