Hardy says he will confirm by noon today if the takeover is going through. The alternative would appear to be admin.

Quite a few teams seem desperate to finish bottom this year.

Serial over-spenders for whom [previous] administration is just no deterrent.

Along with; Northampton, Bury, Swindon, Barnet.

Seems to be one hell of an AGM cup brewing in L2 this year. Despite our recent best efforts, the relegation dogfight seems to be eluding us. Maybe only 35pts will be needed for safety this year

With Notts County and Morecambe both going -12, do you think you'll win enough points to catch them up?

I'm seriously starting no question the sanity of Westley. I'd believed in what he was doing until this transfer window, but I think we're totally fucked to be honest. Would obviously love him to prove me wrong, but I think he's just going scattergun and hoping for the best.

This must be it now for the myth of Westley being a good manager. He's gone from Preston in the Championship to Peterborough in League 1 and now relegating Newport from L2.

I can't see how he would get another League job after this.

Unfortunately for him (but moreso us), he was taken for a massive ride by a few chancers and fucked off rather sharpish when he realised.

We had a huge opportunity to set ourselves up for 20 years or so with his involvement, but as it is his legacy will basically be forcing the club into the hands of an inadequate supporters trust and, eventually, this will kill the club off again.

He definitely seems to see things that are apparent to nobody else at all. I guess a moderate upturn in form and maybe 9 wins might be enough looking at some of the teams who are struggling above us, but I don't think we'll get anywhere near that.

He has a huge list of awful signings and loanees with us. Some very good ones too, but with the number of players he got through at us you'd go some to not find a few good signings.

This.

Notts County could really do with a stint in non-league, though, if only to shake them out of this mindset that they're far bigger than they actually are.
