He's an interesting character on Twitter, just endless videos of him alone singing Witham songs on the train to games. He was invited by their board to travel to away games on the team coach but declined as he likes traveling via train.

Was heartbroken earlier in the season after they got knocked out of the FA Trophy away at Biggleswade Town (the only time I have been on his Twitter).

Stalybridge Celtic - for the fresh meat and potato pies
Northwich Victoria (old ground) - ditto
Leigh RMI (ditto - ok, and the barmaid)
Morcoombe - pre-match refreshments in the Olde John O'Gaunt in Lancaster - is it still going?
Bath City - fuck the football, too many good pubs
Oxford City - ditto
Lewes - ditto
Halifax Town - apparently the very splendid Pump Room is no more. :(

Days out I don't miss:-
Anywhere in Essex, except Chelmsford City
Klattering Town
Corby Town
Stevenage Borough

Been to quite a few Essex grounds - the County isn't as bad as people make out - granted there are a few places that are awful

Brightlingsea is quite pretty as a ground.

A ground I do miss is Horwich RMI, but as a Ks fan Eastbourne Town and Bromley (altho I only seen Cray Wanderers there)

Just a change of scenery would be welcome now. Driving along the same stretch of M4 every other week is demoralising. Saying that, I wouldn't want Maidenhead or St Albans to go up.

But as for not meeting you on those days whose fault is that? Most people on here have given me their mobile nos for match days... I remember asking for yours and getting no response. Babes.

I once launched a 50p coin at a leeds fans that was being escorted out the home end and struck him right on the bonce. Not that i condone that sort of behaviour of course. God no.

Rochdale, York, Burton, Scarborough, Darlington.

If I must choose some southern teams then Cambridge, Orient and bizarrely Barnet (Underhill version, think I saw just about all HUFC's games there from the 80s onwards).

Already missing all those trips to Brum, Loughborough, Nottingham from last season.

Southern League South and West been OK, but only OK.

Funnily enough, Burton is another one we absolutely won't miss. For a "brewery town" it was dreadful. We got to the stage where we were doing Derby instead, and just schlepping to Burton after 2.00 for a last beer at the pub near the ground.

Rochdale, on the other hand, was a pleasantly surprising good day out. Well worth a hit.

Depending on which pubs you went in (town centre pubs?), I can understand why you think that. I'm guessing you didn't visit the Oak & Ivy (top Pedigree), the Old Cottage Inn (Real Ale pub), the Burton Bridge Brewery (brews it's own beers) or the Brewery tap (at the National Brewery Centre) which are all on the way to the Pirelli stadium, albeit via different routes.

I remember many years ago, I used to stop off at Derby Turn (rip) as it was roughly half way between railway and ground.

Nowadays, I prefer Coopers Tavern or Devonshire Arms.

Meet the Scarborough lads very early morning, pleasant coastal views with actual sand for a bit of a kickabout on the beach whereas many away trips to coastal locations don't have proper beach and have pebbles or no beach at all and just concrete harboursides, munch on some lovely fresh prawns, wander around the place for a while which is more pleasant than many away games, grab some chips with gravy outside the ground, almost always a belting match, some more enjoyment afterwards. Was grand.

This season will be our first ever trip to Blackpool, typically we have it midweek in early March so it'll be cold, dark and wet. Hotel booked for a couple of nights so we'll see how it goes but I'm expecting it to be a hellhole full of scum, and that's without the Boro' fans.

Lovely place

Lived near Blackpool for 3 years and I've been there many a time since. Town's a dump - winter or summer. In the autumn when there's a storm in full swing it has a different feel to it and I do like it
