If you are in the army...

...don't fall in love with an EU national and marry her/him.

Just listened to a tale on the radio where a guy married a lady from an EU country and then found out he had to jump through hoops and spend £2k just to ensure they could carry on living together here after Brexit. I was amazed when he was asked how long they had been married and said 26 years. Apparently if you don't live here for 5 years you cannot claim permanent residency and because a lot of army people are reposted every 3 years it becomes an issue. In some cases families are living apart just so a partner can be in the UK for 5 years.

What a shoddy way to treat people that have put their life on the line.

LET'S PUT THE EXIT IN BREXIT and kick out those horrible partners of those liberal elitist army lot!

It's a catchy little number that "more exit in the Brexit", I've got a couple of raps for it, but can you use your own material please.

More exit in the Brexit, More exit in the Brexit, More exit in the Brexit I say, More exit in the Brexit, More exit in the Brexit keeps you singing till the end of the day.

Any of the Forces represents a good career choice for any young person wanting to make the most of themselves.

I realise that living in Aldershot, you probably have a bit of a jaundiced view.

Getting shouted at and treated like a cunt for the first few years, before being slowly molded into doing the same to newer recruits.

army do a lot more harm that good

the UK govt/army are often the aggressors and any retaliation is partly their fault

if we had a decent government in that would massively reduce the chances of conflict

So when you say the army do more harm than good, in reality you mean the politicians based on the 2nd comment and that the army follow the decisions of Parliament.

Here are the British Army being the Aggressors:

just read your link, literally what the fuck business is the Malawian wildlfe economy to do with the UK?

Imagine if some of the army from Malawi came over to intervene in how we keep animals at the zoo or kill them for food etc? Do you think many Brits would have time for that?

Tommy Robinson et all would fucking love it

Because wildlife crime only operates on a national level obviously, it never travels across borders ever hence it isn't a multi billion $ market place. :/

Could it actually have occurred to you that authorities in Malawi requested help and our army's expertise? As they will have. For somebody who argues for remain you aren't half doing the Little Englander routine.

If you can't grasp training anti poaching Rangers in Malawi, this must absolutely blow your mind:

Then how can you apportion blame (for what?) to an 18 yo squaddie or Army chef?

Do you blame the cleaners at RBS for the financial crisis in 2008 as they volunteered for their jobs?

Are you advocating we don't have a military?

most don't see themselves that way anyway. My brother certainly doesn't. Just a different type of career, which is why after being in the Army for 4 years hes now commissioning at Sandhurst.

Only because he'll get more money, a bigger house and private education for his daughter. Serving the country is secondary for a lot of people.

I do find the whole hero-worship of the military a bit uncomfortable. It all feels a bit Red Square parade ground. I like to think we are a grown up democracy (I know, I know), that sees the military as a necessary part of statehood, not some higher beings whom we should look up to.
