My issue with the BBC (mild annoyance)

I've noticed the following on several occasion and it's one of those small things that irks me.

Almost every Monday, throughout the day, there is a story on the radio 4 news that relates entirely to an upcoming episode of Panorama, it seems that the BBC have decided to insert this news item and in reality it's little more than a thinly veiled advert for one of their upcoming programmes - I can help thinking that if it wasn't for the item in question being the subject of the Panorama programme then the story would probably not warrant a place in the main BBC news

BBC local stuff is even worse.

If the presenters of "Look North" do a charity event they make a month's story out of it, live coverage and all that bullshit.

If you were genuine you'd advertise once then do it in your free time, attention seeking bloodsuckers.

Out of interest, who did the weather that show? i don't live in the area. Or did they just not bother with the weather that night?

I think if Georgina Burnett ever passed away I'd top myself.

Gordon Burns reading the news, Diane doing the weather. The most star studded line up since Tony Wilson did the ITV news.

I don't object to advertising an upcoming programme in the normal way - but dont try and give it extra gravitas be making it a new story

I am surprised that BBC haven’t backtracked on over 75 licence.

I am seeing that BBC are losing hundreds, if not thousands, of people every day as part of boycotts.

As the State Broadcaster, it won't matter one iota if people boycott BBC Channels, especially as the TV Licence is, to all intents, a tax on everyone in the country with a home.

As an aside, sorry to hear your family's troubles. We're thinking of you.

Most people are Boycoutting the BBC nowadays anyway aren't they?

Seems fair that the only people watching it pay for it, no matter what their age.

Not when I was last bored enough to look at the ratings.

Not excusing the BBC, but Sky Sports News is far worse - ignoring sports and events where Sky don't have the broadcasting rights.

I find the fact that Sky run both a news station and a betting company really questionable.

I have my suspicions that they run / make up news stories with managers and players being linked to jobs with the sole purpose of getting people to bet on it.

They also report on Strictly as if it is news.

It's not.

It's an advert for their programme.

They did the same with Bake Off but that's not mentioned now it's gone to Channel 4.

The only time a tv is on at mine is when the young un comes, I stick to the radio, BBC's 2 & York and 909 when home alone, if not them then tunes, sky sports etc I stream shamelessly, although not as much as I once did as I don't enjoy games with VAR.

I do have a tv licence tho.
