Just another in a long line of so-called leaders of "the right". Which is a joke in itself because since WW1 there has never been a significant right-wing in the UK .

Following on from Oswald Mosley, Chesterton, John Tyndall, Colin Jordan, Nick Griffin - he's just the latest political non-entity. The only difference is that in 2019 we have the internet instead of public meetings to get his propaganda out to more people than in the past.

The right wingers crying/claiming bias over BBC News reports/programmes about Brexit, Tory Party Islamophobia problems or articles about Johnson is matched by Momentum types crying/claiming bias over articles about Labour's anti-Semitism problem (such as the response to the yesterday's programme).

Just because right wingers cry/claim bias doesn't make their opinion equally as valid as the Momentum types. The fact are the BBC is full of Tory connections at the top and the bulk of their political coverage is headed by right leaning journalists/presenters.

You mean the general pisstake out of the Maybot didn't happen? The snivelling whining of Farage and his supporters after his interview on Marr just after he launched the Brexit Party, the taking apart of members of the ERG on Newsnight and other programmes (JRM is the only exception from memory, likewise Chris Grayling, Jeremy Hunt etc being hammered on Sunday political programmes/Newsnight. I remember seeing a programme on Islamophobia in the Tory Party not so long ago on the BBC which provoked teeth gnashing on social media. Richard Tice, Brexit Party Chairman, being embarrassed by the interviewer on Newsnight after his comments about the Ambassador.

These are just off the top of my head. The perceived bias is just that a perceived bias.

Yeah Andrew Neil lightheartedly taking the piss out of the Maybot is a bit different to a vitriolic campaign against the leader of the opposition.

As for Farage, hugely over-represented on the BBC given that the man has lost the 7 times he has stood for election as an MP.

Questioning of MPs and cabinet minister isn't a sign of bias, it's literally the job of a political broadcaster. Which ITV/Sky/Channel 4 are all far more competent at than the BBC. Fiona Bruce and Andrew Neil don't even attempt to hide their bias.

And yet the BBC slammed the Tories in opposition as well. Remember the characterisation of Iain Duncan-Smith and William Hague.

This vitriolic campaign, you mean the BBC reporting on Momentum who back Corbyn literally targeting opponents within the Labour Party, including with vandalism/criminal damage of their offices, threats on social media (Jess Phillips being one of many). Reporting on Momentum taking over the Labour Party mechanisms and the political leanings of those people (other Labour members and MPs have pointed this out). Reporting on Corbyn and the Labour leadership either via incompetence, or wilfully ignoring it, allowing anti-semitism to thrive and doing little, to nothing, about it (Labour MPs, Labour staff and Labour members have all complained about this as well). Reporting on Corbyn's reluctance to commit on Brexit.

All literally the job of a political broadcaster. So perceived bias is just that perceived bias.

As he was born Thomas Giles Robinson.

"At least Tommy committed an honest crime."

This is where you need a GIF.

Defence lawyers launched an application to discharge the jury – a move that would have forced a lengthy retrial or ended the grooming case completely.

"Lawyers defending members of the gang then argued it was “inconceivable” that jurors had not seen Robinson’s live stream, which would prejudice them against their clients.

Bunty Batra, a barrister representing rapist Faisal Nadeem, said the video had been viewed 3.5 million times, amid an international furore over Robinson’s imprisonment and protests in London."

If the judge had deemed it reasonable that any of the jurors had been one of the 3.5 million people to view Tommy Robinson's livestream, the paedophiles would been released as a mistrial would have been called.

It's only (possibly incorrectly) because the judge ruled it unlikely that no mistrial was called.

I think it's highly a member of the jury did see them - and one member of the jury talked extensively about Tommy Robinson. Indeed the paedophiles could consider themselves unlucky they didn't get off on a technicality.

That's your honest crime right there, giving paedophiles and child rapists the opportunity to get off scotfree.

The whole Tommy thing is fascinating. If he didn't exist, liberals would have to invent him.

People are more angry about him than the fact that large numbers of children were sexually abused by gangs over many years.

And the authorities knew about it and ignored it for as long as they possibly could. All because of a cringing deference to multiculturalism.

I guess it is easier to triumphantly blow raspberries at the bogeyman than face up to the fact that those who are supposed to protect the vulnerable really don't give a shit.

Are you sure people are more angry about Yaxley-Lennon than the grooming gangs? Evidence for this?

As the general public were exceptionally angry about the gang in Oxford, anecdotally from what I read about it, I would suggest you are utterly wrong. The difference is they didn't endanger the prosecutions of these people unlike Yaxley-Lennon.

When's Yaxley-Lennon going to start campaigning about White paedophiles rather than protect them?

I agree that the outrage was strong over the grooming gangs. But it’s difficult to see the failure to act as anything other than hyper sensitivity to multiculturalism. Which is a terrible indictment of the whole concept.

And there are a few on the extreme left who are more annoyed by TR than by the crimes themselves.

The giveaway is that the reaction of the media (who also ignored this issue for as long as possible) and the authorities to TR is so disproportionate.

The resignation of Sarah Champion was another significant moment.

The whole grooming gangs scandal only got traction after an article, IIRC, by The Times newspaper. Which was 15 years too late.

But don't worry folks, now that TR has been imprisoned we can revert back to Lifting of Carpets And Sweeping Of Brooms.

Diversity is our strength, remember.

Two separate cases. In May 2017, he was given a 3 month sentence for contempt at Canterbury Crown Court relating to a gang-rape trial. This was suspended for 18 months.

In May 2018, he did the same at Leeds Crown Court, so not only was he guilty of a further case of contempt the original suspended sentence kicked in. I understand the 9 months sentence today was the original 3 months for the offence at Canterbury and 6 months for the Leeds offence.

Isn't it only against the law if a judge imposes reporting restrictions? These were imposed this time as subsequent cases may be influenced by the outcome.

Which makes him even more of a dickhead as a judge had specifically said not to do it.
