Happy new season

Well it was snowing yesterday in the UK, so perfect cricketing weather.

Personally prefer this County Championship format than the previous divisional one, gives everyone the opportunity to win it and also there is no Div 1 v Div 2 statistical bias either when it comes to England spots.

Spent a good while today working (pretending to anyway) while watching Glamorgan at Headingley.

The normal grim start, numbers 8 & 9 have put on 100 now, so probably not a good score.

I wonder what his teammates say to him the day after a crap performance.

Lancs letting Sussex off the hook. Bowling still looks a bit thin to me.

We’ll probably be skittled for 86.

Last season we generally bowled well but our batting on occasions was absolute gash. But 220/9 is a decent start.

Too corporate.

All that money and effort for an extra 2500 seats.

I don’t understand why we don’t have at least one stadium ground (ie 40k+ seats) in this country.

They can make shitloads more out of a new stand with boxes. Having said that, as evidenced by the palava over the land at the nursery end of Lord’s, the MCC are not particularly good at playing the corporate game. The club could do with some good business people involved, rather than it’s combination of mad old buffers and weirdo provincial wannabes.

The selectors will still be looking at who they score the runs against, whether or not there's a two-division structure.

Weather looks shocking - believe it or not it's actually even colder here!!

Hoping for a good season. Will be looking out for Hameed, Bracey, Lammonby and Jamie Smith at Surrey.

Runs are worth more on Surrey’s road than Northants’ spin paradise? But you’re not wrong probably such is England’s selectors.
