I know you hate reading so here are Johnson and Gove.
"Mr Johnson and Mr Gove said: "Voters were promised repeatedly at elections that net migration could be cut to tens of thousands.
"This promise is plainly not achievable as long as the UK is a member of the EU and the failure to keep it is corrosive of public trust in politics."
Tony Blair said this
"Also on Marr, former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair, who backs Remain, warned that leaving the EU would not solve migration problems.
"If you actually break down the figures on EU migration, many of these people come in on short-term contracts, and then will go back out again. Many of these people work in vital public services."
It seems you were had, mate. Don't feel bad. 17m people fell for the grift.
On your second point. You and Balders told us this deliberate manipulation of the labour market would result in higher wages and previously unemployed people returning to work, hence meaning we would need less immigration. Apparently, this hasn't happened, we have an immigration problem and companies are left spending thousands seeking employees from Africa rather than having an 'on tap' flow from the EU. Quite a mess. All we can hope is that trade continues to go badly and we don't need employees.
So the only promise there was by the Cameron government pre-Brexit.
You seem to have assumed that immigration was the only reason to want to leave, rather than just one of the reasons why the EU is a bad thing to be a member of.
Its an improvement that companies have to prove they need the workers before dragging them in.
