Hang on Assad had a fit English wife didn’t he?

Oh, and Classic Dom is saying that this is basically Al-Qaeda taking over Syria. Which seems pretty bad news.

Are we going to get a load of pro-Assad refugees now? Should go down well with the anti-Assad refugees we have already accepted.

Can stop accepting all Syrians now.

I assume all this isn’t quite what Hamas were planning when they tried to change the Middle East.

Russian state media is reporting that Assad & his family are in Moscow and have been granted political asylum.

With Russia losing their foothold in the Middle East (will also majorly affect their operations in Africa) due to this, I can't imagine Putin is very happy with Assad, so yeah he should be avoiding any tall buildings.

They haven’t lost it yet.
They can’t be popular after all the bombing, but HTS might not be in a hurry to boot them out if it is worried about needing a counterweight to Turkey, at least until it has decided which Arab countries it wants to line up with.

The rumour I heard was that Russian bases have been guaranteed by the rebels and this was partly what accelerated the end of Assad. No idea if that’s correct
