I'm somewhat surprised that your post has been up for 3 hours now and none of our the forum's resident xenophobes has pointed out that it was the German military that were known as sausage munchers.

But I've got to ask myself whether you've inaccurately characterised the dietary habits of British troops, or you're just being homophobic.

I’m not being homophobic. Where do you glean that from?! I had a good friend who was in the army for 3 years who told me a lot of stuff, much of which centered around tales of men playing with each other.

I’m pretty anti army/military people & the institution generally, this gave me a (slightly) more favourable impression of them.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned it but I practically insist everyone watches Ukraine : Enemy in the Woods.
But watch it when you are in a good mood and not before bed - it’s compelling but not happy viewing, and whilst it’s not gruesome there are a handful of onscreen killings and lots of dead bodies.
A company of 99 Ukrainians go into the woods, they don’t all come out, most of them get wounded, and they leave dead Russians scattered all over the place. It’s a shame few Russians won’t get to see how Putin’s army appallingly wastes their menfolk’s lives.
Kids shouldn’t have to go through that shit, and they are kids - a 19 yr old patrol leader and a stunningly pretty painfully young looking medic.
Putin really is an Evans; he has really earned a Mussolini ending.

Yep I watched it. Dropping a grenade from a drone and taking out a Ruskie showed how warfare is changing, but then hiding in bunkers and trenches shows how it is also the same as it was.

It’s a new level of mental stress. Being under bombardment must be hell but you can view it as just chance whether it gets you or not, but the buzz of a drone overhead knowing it’s stalking you personally and there’s bugger all you can do about it must be sheer mental torture.
There was a video the other day of a Ukrainian FPV drone literally chasing a couple of Russians round and round an armoured vehicle until one just gave up and accepted his fate.
They might have to be careful with hobby drone usage post war cause that noise is going to really crash a few damaged minds.

Russia continues to say this type of stuff, yet there are still so many idiots in the West saying just to let Russia take Ukraine and be done with it.

These people need to wake up and realize that won't lead to peace, it will cause a bigger mess and even more death.
