I think I may head over for the last weekend. Looks like I can squeeze in some boxing finals, the Men's Basketball bronze medal match and the final session of the Athletics.
Anyone else going?

No, I hate the French. Not that there are many in Paris THESE DAYS, but still.

Which is most likely to cause Olympic chaos - terrorists, Russian hacking, or the lazy French bastards all going on strike?

Surely a terrorist attack is an almost certainty what with the current political dynamic in France? Don't think Russian hacking will be a factor as they are already able to use the event for propaganda, participating with their terrorist, war-supporting athletes unhindered but for no flag (wow, harsh punishment!). The Olympic Committee are their lapdogs, so what would be the point. 24-07-2024, 02:47 PM in response to #63554
Looked into going for Serbia Basketball, but decided I couldn't be arsed.
Settled for 2 games for €15 across the road to watch Jokić tear the japanese apart on Sunday, then Monday night a decent team performance against GC's Giannis' Greece. 24-07-2024, 02:50 PM in response to #63554 UkrainianPhil Wrote: Surely a terrorist attack is an almost certainty what with the current political dynamic in France? Personally I’m not comfortable with banning countries from sporting stuff. It opens up a mess re who is ‘bad’ enough to deserve it, and who decides, and sport should be kept separate. But it’s tricky when it’s used as a flex by politicians like Putin, and if participation just causes chaos with major public protest and conflict between participants*. *how much performative anti-Israeli crap are we going to get? 24-07-2024, 04:50 PM in response to #63532
Funny enough I got thinking about going this morning,
Still quite a few tickets left apparently? 24-07-2024, 05:24 PM in response to #63551
Yes, loads. You can get tickets for pretty much anything including the session for the 100m finals.
