Surely a terrorist attack is an almost certainty what with the current political dynamic in France?

Don't think Russian hacking will be a factor as they are already able to use the event for propaganda, participating with their terrorist, war-supporting athletes unhindered but for no flag (wow, harsh punishment!). The Olympic Committee are their lapdogs, so what would be the point.

Personally I’m not comfortable with banning countries from sporting stuff. It opens up a mess re who is ‘bad’ enough to deserve it, and who decides, and sport should be kept separate.
But it’s tricky when it’s used as a flex by politicians like Putin, and if participation just causes chaos with major public protest and conflict between participants*.
