This has become a scenario for the privileged. The issue of vulnerable being walked down this road, others feeling they are a burden to family and carers... My friend who is an expert in the autism field is terrified of what could happen to the vulnerable. Another issue is the medical profession - thy simply won't have it. Doctors will not sign this stuff off for fear of the ramifications.

There is inevitably a set of circumstances where it happens anyway, but this is not going mainstream any time soon, thankfully.

I think we should start with those economically inactive who are of working age and are able to work.

Hey just a minute, I'm building a shed but am economically active in a small way next week.

I want to go on living whilst I can support myself, I'd not want a carer so there would come a time where it'd be an option, if of course I reached that point.

Same lass was already on anti rejection drugs from having a liver transplant, I'd not swap 6 or 7 jabs a day for double figure's worth of pills, I know a lass who had a kidney/pancreas transplant, she's ok but takes a shit load of pills, and I don't need an excuse nor a sob story to not work full time.

It seems mad that we practically force some people to suffer. I think with terminal illness it should be offered after a certain period of time.

Personally I'd much prefer to give everything a good go and when I feel it's time, have a party and go out with a laugh.

I don't like the idea of my loved ones feeling such desperation whilst we all await the end.

As one nearer to the pearly Gate than most on here, I would welcome the option to be "put to sleep" as soon as I have to wear nappies and be fed and washed by others.

EDIT: Not to mention being in pain and being reliant on others who most likely are sacrificing most of their own old age to be able to care for me.
