Doing exactly what a Labour government is supposed to do.

But no, let's give even more free stuff to wealthy pensioners instead.

Rise in minimum wage and a rise in NI employer contributions is a double tax on jobs. Thousands upon thousands will be laid off in the coming months, wages will stagnate. Growth slows. Recession. Death.

Well businesses cry “we can’t afford it” every time the minimum wage gets raised. My view is if you have a business that can’t survive without paying staff less than they can reasonably be expected to live on then it’s not really a viable business anyway is it?

I agree, but coupled with a rise in NI at the same time means it gives businesses an excuse to cut back.
