Yes, exactly the same here. Rory for 3 or 4 weeks has been saying the polls were wrong and I just thought it was wishful thinking until that poll came out. But may be on to something.

Its gonna be tight anyway, as you say. I suspect i'm gonna end up staying up all night on Tuesday. I'm working from home on Wednesday at least.

Interestingly, there's been very little chat about how the pollsters massively overstated the Labour vote share in this year's election.

Most of that was explained by tactical voting surely?

In Chelmsford there was a pretty large drive to get everyone to vote Lib Dem. So many people I know, including me, switched their votes from Labour to Lib Dem this time round.

And that happened all over the country.

As for the US, they're f**ked either way. (And, by association, so are we.) Trump is Trump. However, Harris is utterly abysmal in her own way.

I have a good friend who post Brexit decided to just not care any more. And so, he now in all situations favours the most funny/choatic outcome of any major political event.

This time round he's actually favouring a narrow Harris win as he's calculated it'll send the US into meltdown. And, I think he may be right because look at how Trump and his people reacted to Biden defeating him easily in 2020? Just imagine how nuts they're gonna go in a narrow loss, especially as polling suggests he's ahead in the Electoral college vote and betting odds are predicting he wins.

I'm betting on the night he claims victory very prematurely and then will refuses to concede if the votes show a Harris victory. And then he'll go to court everywhere to contest results as well as inciting insurrection again as January 2025 approaches. Only, this time it'll be nationwide.

If Harris does win then the security at the Inauguration will be something else.

Yes, absolutely. And, it probably doesn't explain all the drop either.

And in early January when she, in her role as VP, officially confirms the result in the Senate.

I have for a while thought it's gonna be cruel, but kind of funny, for her to have to confirm her defeat if Trump wins.
