It was just pleasantries - unworkable in practice. It would also rely on our governments using the veto and the evidence is that the establishment was/is completely out of step with the population on European integration.

The cases consequences cost the tax payer a lot and reduced available housing etc so it's hardly a patriotic thing to do, 'opening the floodgates' as you will and preparing the ground for the travesty we see today.

I agree. I didn't think it was that great but what we have now is worse. Higher immigration, trade not as good as it could have been. EU citizens tended to stay more short term. Now we have non-EU citizens coming to settle longer.

Johnson is OK and making money. All the others are ok. You are left telling me how immigration is a problem still and how you had to get rid of the government that promised so much...because they delivered none of it

I think that ship has sailed. Look on here, this place has taken a right Nazi shift in recent months.

Seems to me that more and more people think immigration is too high now and politicians are having to talk about it (although they are shit scared of stopping it because of the recession that will inevitably follow).
