Ooooh this chapter is called “The Implosion of the People’s Vote.” Something to cheer me up in the morning.

I think the idea of dubbing something 'The People's Vote' was probably the nail in the coffin of our EU membership. It basically came across as labelling people who voted 'Leave' as non-people. There were probably far more sensible approaches which were possible to try to highlight the benefits of EU membership and enough time to change people's minds without having to resort to calling half the voters thick. I suppose this is a general problem with life NOWADAYS. Terrible idea. 29-11-2024, 12:08 AM in response to #81870
Let’s face it, the main/first problem was having the vote in the first place.
Millions of people voting on sonething they don’t have a fucking clue about. Ridiculous. Totally against the Parliamentary democracy system we have had for the last few hundreds years of course 29-11-2024, 12:16 AM in response to #82327 Uptheshots Wrote: Let’s face it, the main/first problem was having the vote in the first place. It was an easy enough question on the ballet paper, even for you. Just because you didn't like the country's answer... 29-11-2024, 09:48 AM in response to #82327 Uptheshots Wrote: Let’s face it, the main/first problem was having the vote in the first place. Same logic applies to the 1975 referndum to join, then? 29-11-2024, 07:53 PM in response to #82329 29-11-2024, 08:55 PM in response to #82460 NWS Wrote: Bit like the 2024 GE you keep bitchfesting about Friday evening and I stayed home so I'll humour the knobber. Unfortunately the new crew have made a very inauspicious start to their tenure, but we knew this would happen as the tories overstayed their welcome as they lost their direction but they were put there for so long simply by the lack of credible opposition. Reform will get bigger mark my words, the genie's out of the bottle and won't go back in. 29-11-2024, 09:48 PM (This post was last modified: 29-11-2024, 09:49 PM by NWS.) in response to #82480 Kev-YCFC Wrote: Friday evening and I stayed home so I'll humour the knobber. So get out and deliver leaflets rather than bitchfesting about a vote you don't like (while simultaneously moaning about people complaining about a vote they didn't like). I'm sure the repressed noncer's attacking of women's rights about abortion is a great policy. We've already seen the contempt for women the party holds. Ukip Brexit Party Reform will get bigger |
