The big town for East Surrey is Crawley. Then there is a big gap before you get the West Surrey towns that are more similar to each other and certainly dont look toward Crawley. Caterham should be in Croydon borough.
Its madness to dick about with devolving power down to councils without sorting out the boundaries - carrying on using Saxon boundaries that bear little relation to modern social and economic factors is crazy. Despite being a proud Surrey man, born and bred, I realise that Surrey is a nonsense as an administrative unit and has been since a huge chunk of it was carved out to create Greater London.
