To unite all the winter celebrations - including Christmas - under one promotional umbrella.

But unfortunately it fell victim to the 'You carnt even say your brittish THESE DAY'S' crowd.

I love Christmas but I don't really love Christmas. I like spending money on presents, alcohol and food, blowing it all in one day and then staggering around the streets safe in the knowledge that I am being wholly acceptable and normal, no matter what I do.

The Welsh are a spiritual folk. They have retained connections to the Earth and the mother goddess. Winterval is about decadence, rebirth and renewal. Confrontation and reconciliation. Loss and love. Embracing the unplanned and planning ahead. Raising a glass to the unknown; not in fear but in joy!
