They've been blocking electricity, food, and aid for three weeks whilst bombing schools and hospitals so I don't think it wouldn't be a complete surprise if they had taken out the internet.

Layla Moran, the Liberal Democrats foreign affairs spokesperson, who has extended family in Gaza, said the UK government and other international allies were “failing” to prevent civilian casualties in the region with its stance on the Israel-Hamas war.

Speaking to BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg programme, Moran said:

"I heard the secretary of state (Michelle Donelan) now suggest it is Hamas that is stopping them from leaving.

Stopping the mass killing innocents is a realistic alternative. Have you worked out why you never call for any armed conflict to stop?

Israell stopping now is a surrender and will just lead to a pause before Hamas have another go, except next time Hezbollah might go at the same time, knowing that Israel will be forced to surrender again.
You are right I would shit myself near a warzone. That is part of my fascination with the subject - I don't know how soldiers do it mentally (and I certainly don't understand how people do such awful things as the Palestinians did on 7th)

What about when they bombed over here? Surely we should have been carrying out airaids and if innocent people died then that was just hard luck.

What did we do to stop them?

We used the police and justice system. And we controlled NI, so we didn't need to smash our way in. What would we have hit with air raids? The Republic werent firing rockets indiscriminately into NI nor doing cross border pogroms.

I wonder what meerkat thinks is the alternative for Palestinians in Gaza or the West Bank who are subjected to some pretty awful treatment, on a daily basis.

(For the settlement of any doubt, I think Hamas are horrific and their attack was horrific. I think Israel's response is disgusting. they should be engaging with international agencies such as the UN etc to work out how to stop Hamas, maybe looking for use of specialist forces to go in and root them out. Most of all they should be asking the world to get at Hamas about its disgusting charter elements and entice them to the negotiating table).

The awful treatment Gazans are subject to is the actions of Hamas. West Bank is different because of the settlements.
Engage with international agencies!! Laughable considering the anti-Israel stance of the UN and the UNRWA aiding Hamas.
